World Design Meeting
Proctor & Gamble
Conceptual design of the brand and experience for a three day design summit, The World Design Meeting, for approximately three thousand of Procter and Gamble’s global design staff. This included multimedia experiences, custom furniture, signage, wayfinding, and assorted activations throughout a 150K+ ft² historic venue. Given the scale and dark labyrinthian nature of the venue, great attention was placed on the wayfinding system. A system was developed that consisted of a variety of freestanding forms. Some included looping abstracted video content or deconstructed halogen light fixtures to grab visitors’ attention, while others were simple cut/printed vinyl graphics. A neon “portal” graphic directed attendees to the main hall. The dining room aimed to add lightness to the venue. 20’ tall white trees were fabricated out of thermoformed PVC pipes repetitively wrapped to create the trunks. Thousands of folded tissue papers were arranged to form the leaves. Flat-to-form CNC-routed Sintra Board clouds were hung from the ceiling. Stage lighting and plants were used throughout the space. An indoor tent comprised of aluminum extrusions and white plastic was used to create a reprieve from the existing decor of the building and the event itself. This fabricated room featured oversized white furniture, greenery, and custom OSB furniture installations.
